Oxford Tabla was delighted to go to this remarkable and unusual concert in the Marylebone Theatre, London. This was a totally natural performance and the Steinway was not at all "prepared". This was the very first time Utsav Lal and Sanju Sahai were performing together and it was a very "looked forward to" event with both performance on top form. Each part of a "raga wholeness" worked up to peaks of excitement by way of increasing speed, complexity and crescendos and with each performer passing new ideas to the other like playing "catch" as the music unfolded.... more please!
